We can make it if we try

Just two teams left in the county hurling championship, and any hope of romance lies in a tiny pile of ashes.

  3. Lismore

  5. De La Salle
  6. Ballyduff Upper
  7. Ballygunner
  8. Mount Sion

You have to feel particularly sorry for Lismore, losing after a replay to the Gunners for the second year in a row. On a happier note, with Portumna and Ballyhale out of their respective competitions the All-Ireland is now wide open. Of all the teams left in with a chance of winning the All-Ireland, the team that most recently won the Tommy Moore Cup were Loughgiel Shamrocks back in 1983. In fact, they’re the only team left who have ever won it. A Waterford winner. Why not? For those with reasons ‘why not’, please pick a number and form an orderly queue.
