Oh me of little faith!

Okay, I did not see that Waterford win coming. Although in my defence, RTÉ didn’t see it even after it had happened:

It’s early days and all that jazz, but there is much to be pleased about. No doubt a lot will be made of the inexperience of the Clare side, but they weren’t being thrown into the cauldron of Croke Park or even the Munster championship – this was the first round of the National League at home against a team with a few players who were part of the outfit walloped by Clare in the same venue in last year’s Under-21 championship. Add in coming out on top in a game where the teams were level five times in the second half and ‘we’, in the guise of the Dungarvan Colleges, retaining the Harty Cup and it’s a very satisfying day’s work all round. Thanks to Thomas Keane, Tomás McCarthy and Waterford GAA for showing the national broadcaster how to keep punters updated.
